Barb is a pretty short game (under 4 minutes and free on Itch.io) but that doesn’t lessen its impact. After all, sometimes less is more and this is exactly the case with Kenney‘s Barb.
As you might have already guessed, you are playing this game as Barb. The game is played from the point of view of the title character and the first thing you wake up to is your squawking alarm clock (it really does kind of sound like a duck). Then, it’s up to you to follow the prompts and point and click your way through the game to find more about this character that you are playing which asks the question: how much can you find out of a person in under 5 minutes. Well, we’ll just stop there.
Short, Sweet and to the Point
We really enjoyed Barb‘s artwork. It’s got a great comic style with a lot of attention to detail. This isn’t just run of the mill flat polygon work. There are lots of edges and corners and nooks and crannies to feast your eyes. My only complaint is that the game isn’t longer so that we can enjoy the environment more.
